Often times, in the face of disaster such as the recent Indian Ocean
Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, the eternal question arises: why would a
loving God allow something like this to happen? And it's a good
question. Many times, our image of God is something of a kindly
old granddad, who's content to give us candy and nice things, but who
we quickly blame in the face of personal disaster.
The problem with this, tho, is not really that we blame God...
the problem is that when we do this, we are trying to shift a
responsibility that belongs to us. |
